Shopify order sync and fulfillment control

Bring Shopify orders into PrepPort without copying addresses or SKU lines by hand.

PrepPort's integration workflow is designed around the patterns mature 3PL platforms use: store connection, SKU mapping, warehouse receiving orders, paid-unfulfilled order import, fulfillment status, exceptions, and tracking visibility.

Production app setup values

These are the values needed in Shopify Partner App setup before true live OAuth and order webhooks can run.

Shopify Partner App

  • App URL: https://api.prepportglobal.com
  • Allowed redirection URL: https://api.prepportglobal.com/api/shopify/oauth/callback
  • Webhook endpoint: https://api.prepportglobal.com/webhooks/shopify/orders
  • Webhook topics: ORDERS_CREATE and ORDERS_UPDATED

Admin API scopes

  • read_orders, read_products, read_inventory, read_locations
  • write_fulfillments
  • write_assigned_fulfillment_orders
  • write_merchant_managed_fulfillment_orders

What the customer sees

The portal keeps setup and daily work in one place so customers do not need long email threads for every order.

Connect store

Customers save their Shopify domain, choose import rules, see app setup status, and get the install link when live app credentials are enabled.

Map SKUs

Shopify SKUs connect to PrepPort SKU master files, packaging rules, QC standards, bundle components, and stock records.

Order sync cockpit

Imported orders show PrepPort reference, paid-unfulfilled import status, SKU and inventory match, pick-pack stage, tracking sync readiness, and fallback options.

Workflow

Built for low manual communication and fewer copy-paste mistakes.

1. Receive inventory

Create ASN/WRO-style inbound records before suppliers ship to PrepPort. Attach SKU, carton, QC, label, and packaging requirements.

2. Import orders

Shopify paid and unfulfilled orders can enter PrepPort as fulfillment orders through webhook/API flow, with manual entry and test order import as fallback.

3. Ship and update

Ops teams review wallet balance, stock, packaging, carrier rules, and exceptions before shipment and tracking updates are prepared.

Launch states

The customer experience is designed to work before and after the live Shopify app credentials are approved.

Before app credentials

  • Customer saves the .myshopify.com domain in the portal.
  • PrepPort keeps manual order entry, bulk CSV import, and safe test order import available.
  • Action center shows missing SKU mapping, wallet/deposit, and setup steps.
  • Developer API remains available for agencies, private apps, or middleware teams.

After app credentials

  • Portal shows the OAuth install URL for the customer store.
  • Paid and unfulfilled Shopify orders import idempotently into PrepPort fulfillment orders.
  • Order create/update webhooks feed status, exceptions, SKU lines, and address data into one workspace.
  • Tracking sync can be prepared after stock, wallet, packaging, and operator review are clear.

Controls copied from mature 3PLs

The target is a ShipBob-style platform experience with NextSmartShip-style supplier-side fulfillment practicality.

Platform controls

  • Customer portal for orders, inventory, wallet, and status
  • Order sync cockpit for connection, import, inventory, warehouse, tracking, and fallback stages
  • Store connection records and webhook event logs
  • SKU/bundle mapping requirements before scale
  • Exception queue instead of scattered messages

Operational controls

  • Supplier-side QC before shipment
  • Neutral or branded packaging rules
  • Wallet/deposit requirement before postage or procurement
  • Manual approval for claims, refunds, exact quotes, and sensitive cases

Customer readiness checklist

Each store connection should clear these items before recurring fulfillment is treated as live.

Store setup

Store domain saved, OAuth approved, webhook status visible, paid-unfulfilled import rule confirmed, and fallback CSV process tested.

Product setup

SKU master, bundle rules, supplier profile, packaging rules, QC standard, label files, and brand/trademark authorization are saved.

Commercial setup

Wallet/deposit process, postage approval, quote response, payment evidence review, and release rules are clear before shipment.

Preview the full customer workspace

Before production Shopify OAuth is available, customers can still start with onboarding, SKU files, QC, ASN, marketplace CSV, Customer API, quotes, and status tracking.

Start without live app credentials

The demo workflow shows how PrepPort receives structured work through portal forms, CSV preflight, and API v1 while the Shopify Partner app credentials remain an external setup step.

Upgrade into native sync

Once credentials are live, the same customer workspace can show OAuth status, order webhook intake, inventory reservation, warehouse processing, and tracking sync.
